OBITUARY
It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Diane Fornes announces her passing on March 26, 2025, at the age of 89. Barbara is survived by her children, Michael (Paula), Mark (Susan) and brother Kevin O’Keefe (Carolyn). She will be missed by her three granddaughters, Sonja, Alexa and Shannon. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Michael F. Fornes, Captain USN, her son Andrew P. Fornes, sisters Janet Ryan and Molly O’Neil. Barbara was born in in Buffalo, New York, on July 24, 1935, to Norbert and Adelaide O’Keefe. She met her husband, Michael, in Buffalo, NY when they were just 16 years of age. They married on June 10, 1961. Together they lived in Buffalo, NY, Waukegan, IL, Flushing Meadows, NY, Cape Canaveral, FL, and Rockville MD, eventually settling in San Diego to raise their family. Services for Barbara D. Fornes will be on April 21, 10:30am at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church located at 3131 Governor Dr, San Diego, CA 92122.
