Oregon’s Janie Takeda Reed to join Pac-12 Hall of Honor
Janie Takeda Reed, Oregon softball’s all-time chief in hits, runs and stolen bases, will be a part of the Pac-12 Corridor of Honor.
Takeda Reed is UO’s consultant within the first ever all-female class inducted into the convention’s Corridor of Honor, probably the most prestigious recognition of on-field and off subject contributors to Pac-12 sports activities, in recognition of the fiftieth anniversary of the passage of Title IX.
The 2023 class might be inducted March 3 in the course of the Pac-12 ladies’s basketball event in Las Vegas. The opposite inductees are Susie Parra (Arizona), Jackie Johnson-Powell (Arizona State), Dr. Luella Lilly (California), Ceal Barry (Colorado), Dr. Mary Budke (Oregon State), Jessica Mendoza (Stanford), Natalie Williams (UCLA), Barbara Hallquist DeGroot (USC), Kim Gaucher (Utah), Danielle Lawrie (Washington) and Sarah Silvernail (Washington State).
Reed was a three-time All-American outfielder for the Geese and stays Oregon’s all-time chief in hits (309), runs (204), stolen bases (102), and at-bats (788) and ranks second all-time with a .392 batting common. She led the Geese to Pac-12 championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and to 3 Ladies’s Faculty World Collection (2012, 2014, 2015) appearances.
After school, she gained gold with Crew USA on the 2016 and 2018 WBSC World Championships, and the 2017 and 2019 Pan American Video games, along with being the primary Duck to win an Olympic medal in softball, successful the silver medal on the 2021 Tokyo video games.
