Oregon Zoo baby elephant soon to make her public debut

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Good news if you’ve been itching to see the newest baby elephant at the Oregon Zoo, she will be making her debut this week.

Tula-Tu will make her debut Friday, Feb. 21.

She and the rest of the herd will be inside Forest Hall, the indoor portion of the zoo’s elephant habitat.

The newest member of the Oregon Zoo family has a name: Tula-Tu.

Tula-Tu was born on Feb. 1, and is Oregon Zoo elephant Rose-Tu’s third calf.

Visitors will be able to see Tula-Tu between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily, with limited capacity at Forest Hall, and the zoo says they may close the area if Rose and her calf need some quiet time.
