How to watch Penn State vs Oregon, other top games of Championship Weekend
After a triumphant victory in Columbus over Ohio State, Michigan gets a couple weeks off knowing they knocked the Buckeyes out of the Big Ten Championship. Instead, Penn State will be headed to Indianapolis to take on Oregon.

Midwest vs Northwest, Penn State vs Oregon, and Big Ten vet vs. Big Ten newcomer. This game has plenty of intrigue as the two squads battle for Big Ten supremacy and likely the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
As the last undefeated team in the country, Oregon beat two teams currently slated to be in the playoffs, Ohio State and Boise State. Its win over the Buckeyes in Eugene is the strongest case the Ducks have to be the No. 1 team in the country.
Penn State, meanwhile, lost to that Ohio State squad at home by a touchdown. Outside of that win, they played only one top-25 ranked team this season, beating Illinois by two scores back in Week 4. More recently, the Nittany Lions narrowly escaped with a win in Minneapolis against an unranked Minnesota team. They have plenty to prove, and a win over Oregon could get them there.
Both these teams have been building up for this game and more. Oregon narrowly missed the CFP last season and reloaded with Dillon Gabriel. While it was a different approach, a solid class of Penn State players including Nicholas Singleton, Kaytron Allen and Drew Allar have been waiting for this moment since they got to Happy Valley.
ESPN’s SP+ ranks Penn State as the No. 3 defense in college football facing off against Oregon’s No. 2 offense. Whichever end breaks there will be the story of this game. If James Franklin’s defense can slow down the quick-scoring Ducks and make this an old-fashioned Big Ten game, Penn State will have a great chance in this one.
But Oregon will want to score quickly and run it up to prove it is the best team in the country. The Ducks will have a great shot in this one if they score 28 points or more because I just don’t think Penn State will keep up.
For the betting angle, the best route is either Penn State and the under or Oregon and the over. The 3.5-point line makes me a little nervous, but I just don’t trust Franklin in a big game. Penn State is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games as an underdog, I feel great the Ducks win and cover.
