Highway 20 closure will temporarily limit options between valley and central Oregon

The Oregon Division of Transportation is warning drivers of an upcoming closure of U..S Freeway 20 between the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon. A 3-mile part about 27 miles east of Candy House and 19 miles west of Santiam Junctions will probably be closed to visitors from Sept. 9 to Sept. 22.

Throughout the shutdown, crews will construct a retaining wall and restore injury attributable to a landslide. The detours are prolonged and contain both Oregon Freeway 22 to the north, or Oregon Freeway 126 to the south. Each detour routes re-join Freeway 20 simply west of Santiam Go.

ODOT stated that after the street reopens, drivers can anticipate single-lane closures on weekdays by means of the tip of October.
