Frost advisory affecting Oregon Tuesday – temperatures at a low of 33
A frost advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 1:35 p.m. valid for Tuesday between midnight and 9 a.m. for Lower Columbia River, Tualatin Valley, Benton County Lowlands and Cascade Foothills of Marion and Linn counties.
The weather service says to prepare for, “Temperatures as low as 33 to 37 degrees will result in frost formation.”
“Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered,” comments the weather service. “Take steps now to protect tender outdoor plants from the cold. Consider temporarily moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they are sensitive to cold temperatures. Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight cotton fabric (i.e., bedsheets, thin blankets), as this will help retain heat and provide frost protection for your plants.”
