Fire downtown damages former home of Portland Korean Church

A hearth at a downtown constructing that after housed Portland Korean Church despatched clouds of smoke billowing over Southwest tenth Avenue and Clay Road on Tuesday night.

The three-story former church constructing skilled one other hearth in September 2020. The congregation offered the constructing in 2015, and it has been vacant.

Firefighters with Portland Hearth & Rescue mentioned they don’t consider anybody was inside, and a fireplace at an adjoining constructing was rapidly extinguished. Their largest concern has been stopping the collapse of the constructing, which sits subsequent to a Portland Streetcar line.

Firefighters responded to a fireplace at Southwest tenth Avenue and Clay Road on Tuesday.
