7 killed in I-5 crash involving 2 trucks and a car north of Albany, Oregon
At least seven people died and several others were injured in a crash that closed part of Interstate 5 north of Albany Thursday.
Oregon State Police responded to the crash around 2 p.m. The agency said the crash involved two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle in the northbound lanes near the Santiam Rest Area in Marion County.
A section of I-5 northbound north of Albany remained closed as of 4:50 p.m., and drivers were having to use a detour. Southbound delays are also likely. Transportation officials are asking drivers to avoid the area as they conduct an investigation, which will likely take 24 hours.
