Rain expected through southwestern New Mexico Sunday

A flood watch is in effect for much of Hidalgo, Grant, and Sierra counties in southwest New Mexico until 6:00 p.m. Today. Rain could be heavy in some areas of the southwestern part of the state.
If the rain stays south of the Albuquerque metro area, there should be good weather for a mass ascension at Balloon Fiesta this morning.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A flood watch is in effect for much of Hidalgo, Grant, and Sierra counties in southwestern New Mexico on Sunday. Rain could be heavy in some areas of the southwestern part of the state. If the rain stays south of the Albuquerque metro area, there should be good weather for a mass ascension for the final day of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta this morning.
