Man accused of sexual abuse of minor used gun to threaten victim
LAS CRUCES, NM (CBS4/KFOX14) — A New Mexico man is facing criminal sexual contact of a minor.
Joshua Ortega, 36, was arrested on Saturday.
The alleged sexual abuse of a minor incident involved Ortega and an 8-year-old in 2018.
Las Cruces police investigated the case after the victim told a councilor at a hospital.
Ortega allegedly used a gun when he threatened the victim if they reported the sexual abuse.
According to jail records, no bond was set for Ortega.
