Authorities searching for suspect who shot and killed New Mexico State Police officer

QUAY COUNTY, N.M. (KCBD) – A New Mexico State Police officer was shot and killed in east New Mexico.

According to a social media post, the officer was shot on Interstate 40 near Mile Marker 320, located west of Tucumcari in Quay County.

Authorities are still searching for the suspected shooter, who is considered “armed and dangerous.”

The suspect was last seen wearing a brown hoodie and jacket.
