Two people sentenced for Nevada welfare fraud scheme
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two folks will spend time behind bars after being convicted of fraudulently acquiring welfare advantages.
Nevada Legal professional Common Aaron Ford made the announcement on Thursday.
The legal professional basic’s workplace stated that between February 2018 and August 2021, 53-year-old Charles Bridges and 45-year-old Latonya Gultry submitted false purposes and acquired cash from the Medical Help and Supplemental Dietary Help Program.
The pair finally acquired $212,844.73.
“My officer is not going to permit dangerous actors to defraud the companies put in place to guard our residents,” Ford stated in an announcement. “Defrauding the state welfare system is an upsetting and reprehensible crime and I’m glad to see justice achieved on this case.”
Bridges was sentenced to spend 19 to 48 months in jail. Gultry was sentenced to 48 to 120 months in jail and was given a suspended sentenced together with probation for 3 years.
