Nevada State Parks makes call for Recreational Trails Program Project pre-applications

CARSON CITY, NV – The Nevada Division of State Parks is presently accepting grant challenge pre-applications in anticipation of the 2023 Federal Freeway Administration funding of the Leisure Trails Program (RTP). Submittal of a pre-application is required to find out challenge eligibility. Eligible pre-applicants shall be inspired to submit full funding proposals within the fall of 2022.

RTP funding could also be awarded to counties, municipalities, state and federal companies, nonprofit organizations, and Native American tribal governments for the aim of developing and/or sustaining motorized and non-motorized outside leisure trails, trailhead facilities, and trailside signage. Funds may also be used to help outside teaching programs and eligible challenge planning and clearance actions. Earlier RTP tasks have included the event of the Flume Trailhead parking space in Washoe County, building of the Capital to Tahoe Path close to Carson Metropolis, design and printing of Lincoln County Improvement Authority Path Brochures, and environmental useful resource surveys for the Las Vegas Loop OHV Path.

RTP funding is restricted to roughly $1.2 million per yr. Allocation of funds shall be competitively decided by the RTP Advisory Committee and State Parks Administration in December 2022, following the annual assembly and analysis of proposed tasks.
