Event to honor 2 Nevada State Troopers killed in DUI crash marking one-year

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police is set to honor the lives of two Troopers killed by a drunk driver.

On Nov. 30, 2023 Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix lost their lives in the early morning hours while on I-15 responding to a call.

The fallen troopers will be recognized during an impaired driving apprehension campaign.

Sergeant Michael Abbate, badge 304, and Trooper Alberto Felix, badge 502. Both lost their lives early Thursday morning near the I-15 and Charleston(FOX5)

The driver was sentenced to 16 to 40 years in prison.

The two were honored at Allegiant Stadium and were given memorial signs in their honor.

Nevada State Police and NDOT are honoring the lives of two of their own after they were tragically killed in a DUI crash late last year.
