Wreaths Across America ceremony held at Montana Capitol

HELENA — The annual Wreaths Throughout America ceremony was held on the Capitol Rotunda this Monday. Wreaths Throughout America is a nationwide occasion meant to honor service members and bear in mind those that have died whereas serving the US.

The occasion held on the capitol constructing was organized by Jane Hamman of the Oro Fino Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She’s been operating the occasion for over a decade now. The occasion featured songs and speeches and the putting of the Capitol Rotunda Wreath.

Hamman says the wreath itself symbolizes life everlasting and honors those that have served.

“The wreath itself represents a dwelling evergreen, an countless circle in life that has no starting and no finish,” says Hamman.

This weeklong occasion started on Saturday, December tenth in Maine. From Maine, the 2022 Escort to Arlington heads down the east coast. In line with Wreaths Throughout America’s web site, it’s the nation’s longest veterans’ parade. It culminates on December seventeenth, Nationwide Wreaths Throughout America Day, at Arlington Nationwide Cemetery. Over 3,400 places will take part in wreath-laying ceremonies on the graves of fallen service members.

“…dedicated to remembering our women and men within the army who’ve fought for and supplied the alternatives for freedom for all of us in our nation,” says Hamman.

A wreath putting occasion will happen at Fort Harrison on Nationwide Wreaths Throughout America Day on December 17.
