ELMO, Montana — A wildfire burning in western Montana unfold to 2,000 acres on Friday evening, forcing evacuations and highway closures.
The hearth broke out Friday close to the city of Elmo close to Flathead Lake, Montana Proper Now reported.
CSKT Fireplace Officer C.T. Camel instructed the station that three dozen properties close to Elmo had been being evacuated.
A report from the Montana Division of Transportation stated there was zero viability within the space and Freeway 28 between Scorching Springs and Elmo was closed.
NBC Montana reported the hearth was burning in grass however shifting quick towards timber. It stated air tankers and helicopters had been making drops on the hearth.
