What Is Montana’s Favorite Beverage of Choice? Here You Go

Published

on

It’s not just a seasonal activity to have an adult beverage or two here in Montana. Not that we drink too much, we just like to drink enough to keep our local breweries, brewing. With that being said, I always wondered what the most popular beer and liquor/spirit is in the state.

Luckily, Toast, an all-in-one digital platform built for restaurants, did the math for me and figured out what drinks Montanan’s prefer.

Like all the other states, Montanan’s love their beer. It’s the most popular alcoholic drink in the United States. I won’t lie, I like to have a beer with my dinner when I am out with friends.

As far as the most popular spirt, Montanan’s choice is popular among many other states as well. Unlike Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah where Tequila is the spirit of choice, Montana prefers Vodka. But they are not alone, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, and California are also on the Vodka train.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list’s average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
