Officials ID Montana kayakers who died after capsizing

POLSON, Mont. (AP) — Officers on Tuesday launched the names of two Flathead County residents who died in a kayaking accident in northwestern Montana final week.

McKenzye Joyce Fabeck, 19, and Nate Robert Spoklie, 18, have been kayaking in Swan Lake on April 14 once they capsized resulting from robust winds, Lake County Sheriff Don Bell stated.

A witness who referred to as 911 reported they have been attempting to swim to shore. They went beneath water earlier than first responders arrived.

Searchers recovered Fabeck’s physique on Sunday afternoon and Spoklie’s on Monday morning, officers stated.

Swan Lake is surrounded by nationwide forest land and is a well-liked place for fishing, boating and paddle boarding. The water temperature was about 39 levels Fahrenheit (3.9 Celsius), Bell stated.
