Montana law professor nominated to Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
HELENA — College of Montana legislation professor Anthony Johnstone has been nominated by President Joe Biden for a judgeship on the Ninth Circuit Court docket of Appeals.
Johnstone is a Helen and David Mason Professor of Legislation and an affiliated Professor of Public Administration on the College of Montana’s Blewett Faculty of Legislation. He teaches and writes about Federal and State Constitutional Legislation, Laws, Election Legislation, Jurisprudence, and associated topics.
Senator Jon Tester, D-Mont., praised the nomination of Johnstone on Friday.

As a lawyer, Johnstone has served as counsel in additional than two dozen revealed circumstances in state and federal courts, together with circumstances on the Supreme Court docket of the US.
Previous to educating at UM, Johnstone served because the Solicitor for the State of Montana. He holds a B.A. from Yale College and a J.D. with honors from the College of Chicago Legislation Faculty.
