The Montana state Supreme Court is being asked to overturn a lower court ruling pushed by young environmental enthusiasts that declared regulators have to consider global warming emissions when approval oil, gas and coal projects.

The challenge is coming from Republican officials who disagree with the ruling.

Among those wanting the Supreme Court to overturn the lower court ruling is state Attorney General Austin Knudsen reported the Associated Press.

“The District Court gave the plaintiffs their show trial last June, but it is now time for the State Supreme Court to do its job and overturn the flawed decision that followed,” said the attorney general’s press secretary.
