Montana congressional delegation responds to State of Union Address

HELENA, Mont. — Some members of the Montana Congressional delegation have responded to President Donald Trump’s State of Union Address.

Rep. Troy Downing provided the following response in a press release:

“President Trump has accomplished more in one year than the previous administration could in four,” said Congressman Downing. “I’m proud to have worked alongside him with my Republican colleagues to deliver historic tax relief for families, workers, and businesses, secure our border, beat back inflation, and make everyday life more affordable for central and eastern Montanans. Here’s to three more years of the Golden Age.”

Rep. Ryan Zinke provided the following response in a press release:

“Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead with the Trump America First Agenda. After years of rising prices and stagnant wages, the economy is moving forward. Inflation is down 2 percent, GDP is up 5 percent, retirement accounts are growing, and American families are keeping more of their hard-earned paychecks. Gas prices dropped to $2.25 a gallon in Montana. The border is secure after years of chaos, with law enforcement empowered to do their jobs and keep our communities safe. The Trump doctrine is in full effect, our enemies once again fear us, and our allies understand we all must bear the burden in the fight for freedom.
