Woman Dies After Being hit by a Train in Southern Idaho

MERIDIAN – Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a train.

According to police, at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, a 29-year-old female of Payette was walking southbound on the railroad tracks near on NW 10th Avenue and Washoe Road, in Payette County. The train was traveling northbound and hit the female.

Police say the female succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Traffic in the intersection was blocked for approximately three hours allowing emergency responders to investigate those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
