BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — June is Dairy month, and just one week ago the Suntado dairy processing plant opened up in Burley, and it’s the focus of this week’s Salute to Idaho Agriculture.

The Suntado plant is set to be their first vertically integrated class one and two dairy processing plant in the state.

The 190 thousand square foot facility sits on 23 acres of land and is projected to process 800 thousand to one million pounds of milk every single day over the next year once operations start ramping up in the middle of summer.

The Magic Valley will be greatly involved in supplying this milk as well according to Suntado.

“Our motto is taste the quality and you can definitely taste the quality with the simple fact that all of our cows are withing 30 minutes of the plant. The same day that they’re milked is the same day they get shipped and milk is processed and packaged in multiple formats and shipped off to retail and food service markets,” said Tory Nichols, office of the CEO at Suntado.

Suntado will not have their own brand sold in stores however, instead they will assist retailers and national brands in creating private-label beverage products.
