Salute to Idaho Agriculture: Burks Tractor

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Planting season is fast approaching for Idaho’s farmers, and some may still need equipment.

The Southern Idaho Home and Garden Show took place this past weekend and one of the vendors in attendance was Burks Tractor, a company that has been serving Idaho’s farm equipment needs since 1981.

Today, Burks has two locations, one in Twin Falls and one in Caldwell and they sell some of the top brands in farming like Case-IH, Case-CE and Kubota.

In addition to selling the equipment, Burks Tractor also has a service department where you can fix almost any issue you could have and despite being located in Twin Falls, they service a large portion of the state.

“We cover a wide area. We go all the way up to Sun Valley area past there and our job at Burks Tractor is customer service basically. We have a great service team, probably the best in the Valley and that’s what we do,” said salesman Jason Sowell.

Burks Tractor is located at 3140 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls and they are open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

1 dead in U-Haul truck explosion in Idaho parking lot: Officials

One person is dead after a U-Haul truck appears to have accidentally exploded in a parking lot in Idaho early Saturday, according to officials.

The explosion caused damage within the blast radius including to a Courtyard Marriott and Old Navy, according to the Lewiston Fire Department and City of Lewiston Police Department.

Initial findings indicate the vehicle was transporting stored materials, including flammable items such as gasoline and propane tanks, according to officials.

“At this time, there is no indication the incident is criminal in nature,” Lewiston Fire Marshal Julian Sorrell said in a statement.

There was no fire after the explosion, officials said.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
