Idaho Power responding to outage after hit and run

KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho Power is currently responding to a power outage north of Kimberly.

The outage occurred at 5:02 p.m. on Monday due to a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Addison Avenue East and North 3500 East, according to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office.

The single-vehicle accident downed a power line, according to the office. There are no injuries reported.

The outage area extends north of U.S. Highway 30 and Idaho Route 50, according to the Idaho Power outage map. Crews have been dispatched and are en route to the scene.

The outage affected approximately 1,666 customers, according to Idaho Power. The company estimates that power will be restored around 7:30 p.m.
