The latest chapter in an ongoing effort, Hawaiian officials took another step towards taxing visitors. 

Two bills last year from the state’s Senate kicked around adopting a visitor impact fee. Governor Josh Green campaigned in support of the proposal.

Over the past two weeks, two Hawaii House committees heard testimonies regarding a bill that would impose a $25 tourism tax on visitors. Both committees overwhelmingly supported the bill. Read more »
