Suspect charged in 2022 murder of Hawaii woman missing in Arkansas pleads not guilty

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A suspect charged in connection with the killing of a Hawaii woman reported missing in Arkansas in 2022 has entered a not guilty plea on Monday.

It came as a surprise to prosecutors who had reportedly been expecting a guilty plea.

Officials said Kacey Jennings, 30, is accused of killing of Kealakehe High School graduate Allison Maria Castro and disposing her body.

We’re told Castro’s family traveled from Hawaii to Arkansas for Monday’s hearing.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Jennings.
