Pahoa man, 72, dead in apparent drowning off Hawaii Island

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An aged Pahoa man died Sunday in an obvious drowning in waters off Hawaii Island’s Kehena Seashore.

Round 6 a.m., officers responded to a report of a swimmer in misery. Bystanders pulled the person to shore and commenced CPR till emergency crews from the Hawaii Fireplace Division arrived.

They took over life-saving efforts, however had been unsuccessful in reviving the person.

The 72-year-old swimmer was recognized as Gabriel DeSilva of Pahoa. He was taken to a hospital the place he was pronounced lifeless at 8:10 a.m.
