HPD opens kidnapping case after man forced into car at knife point
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – HPD has opened a kidnapping case in Iwilei after law enforcement sources said a 23-year-old man was forced inside his car at knife point by a suspect demanding money.
Records show it happened just past 5 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot outside the Dole Cannery.
The victim was allegedly told to drive to the nearest ATM.
HNN was told he went to a nearby convenience store and told the clerk what was happening.
The suspect then took off when he found out police had been called.
An investigation remains ongoing.
