Hawaii Island parks reopened after closing for short-lived eruption

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After a short-lived eruption on Monday, Kilauea volcano is not eruption as of Saturday.

Hilina Pali Road, Kulanaokuaiki Campground, the Footprints Exhibit, and Pepeiao Cabin in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are now open.

In addition, the park reopened the coastal campsite at Kaʻaha, Devastation Trail, and Keanakakoii earlier this week.

The areas had been closed since the start of the June 3 fissure eruption near the volcano’s remote upper Southwest Rift Zone.
