Drier conditions are expected over most of the islands with cool northeast trade winds. The exception will be windward areas of Maui and Hawaii Island, which will see some showers thanks to nearby moisture from a dissipating cold front to the south. Shower chances will decrease gradually Saturday night into Sunday.

At the beach, a hgih surf advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday for the north and west facing shores of most of the smaller islands and the west shores of the island of Hawaii. Waves may dip below advisory levels overnight but could rise again Sunday with a new northwest swell. Surf on south shores will trend upward Sunday, while east shore waves will be small and choppy.
