A strong high pressure system to the north is gradually weakening, but trade winds will still be a touch on the breezier side for Sunday before backing off more on Monday. Meanwhile, we’re still getting a few more showers thanks to a trough that’s moving over the islands from east to west. More stable conditions will move in late Sunday, with mostly dry conditions for the remainder of the coming week.

Surf will be quiet Sunday, with choppy waves declining for east shores as the trade winds ease up. South shores will have some background swells keeping some small waves coming in, while north and west shores will be generally flat.

First Alert: Sunday will be the start of the monthly box jellyfish influx on Oahu’s south shore beaches, with a low probability Sunday, then a high probability Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Check with the lifeguards and look for warning signs before going into the water.
