DOH warns consumers not to eat contaminated shellfish from Oregon, Washington
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The state is telling restaurants and food retailers to throw away oysters and bay clams harvested from growing areas in Netarts and Tillamook bays in Oregon.
Consumers should not eat them because they may be contaminated with toxins that cause paralytic shellfish poisoning. Cooking or freezing the shellfish does not make it safe.
In addition, the advisory includes all shellfish species from several growing areas in Washington.

The seafood was harvested last month and distributed to several states, including Hawaii.
