USD’s Eric Peterson says the Denver win was big as they hit the road
VERMILLION, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Eric Peterson told us last week how every single night in the Summit League any team can win.
And we’ve seen that from his Coyotes. Last week’s overtime victory against Denver helped make-up for that OT loss in the Mile High City when they led by 2 with just over a second left and had the ball, only to somehow lose.
It was a great positive moment to help put that gut-wrenching loss behind them.
USD Men’s Basketball Coach Eric Peterson says, “Good to get a win. I thought our team played well and I thought our bench played well. We had some guys come off the bench and give us some big minutes. So I’m proud of our team but we need to keep moving forward. We’re obviously playing a lot better and the goal is to play your best basketball in March and we’re trending that way.”
The Coyotes have a pair of games on the road this week at Omaha and St. Thomas. Kaleb Stewart left that Denver game early with a chest injury which could really make a difference down the stretch.
They are in last place at the moment but a pair of wins would get them right back into the conversation for the post season.
