The 49th annual TubaChristmas 2023 took place at the Sculpture Park outside of the Denver Center of the Performing Arts in Denver on Dec. 17, 2023.

Hundreds of musicians with their tubas, euphoniums, sousaphones and other brass instruments helped to spread holiday cheer under sunny skies and warm temperatures playing holiday favorites for the large crowd gathered for the event. The event was part of the TubaChristmas 2023, a nationwide series of free concerts performed by local, volunteer musicians.

Conductor Bill Clark joked that two tons of heavy metal took part in the concert. The very first tuba Christmas took place 50 years ago at Rockefeller Center in New York City. This is the 49th year for the event in Denver. It has moved around the city as it has grown in size from Larimer Street to Skyline Park and now to the outdoor sculpture garden at DCPA.
