Man, juvenile arrested for attempted assault of Denver protesters after TikTok video goes viral
Two suspects were arrested Tuesday for bias-motivated attempted assault after they threw glass and yelled white power slogans at three women in Capitol Hill.
A video one of the women recorded of their actions went viral on TikTok.
David Halverson, 48, and a juvenile male were arrested for investigation of three counts of attempted bias-motivated crime with bodily injury, according to a Denver Police Department press release.
On Feb. 8, three women, walking north on Lincoln Street near East 10th Avenue toward the Capitol to participate in a protest, were approached by two suspects in a pickup truck, as seen in the video on TikTok. The women told police the suspects yelled “white power” and “Nazi power” at them before throwing two glass objects toward them. The suspects drove away while one of them performed a Nazi salute, according to the women.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office has not determined official charges for the suspects, the release stated.
