A warm start to the week is making way for cooler temperatures and scattered rain showers on Tuesday in Denver, according to the National Service Service in Boulder.

The day’s weather forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of about 62 degrees, followed by a slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Wind gusts get could as high as 18 mph.

Temperatures at night are likely to get as low as 43 degrees, with showers and most of the showers and thunderstorms expected before 10 p.m., bringing mostly cloudy skies.

Forecasters predict the rainfall will be light, and the mountains will see showers and isolated storms in the afternoon, though the mountaintops could potentially get a couple of inches of snow, according to the area’s hazardous weather outlook.
