Denver Coliseum open as 24/7 cold weather shelter for the next week

The Denver Coliseum will be open as a 24/7 cold weather shelter through the morning of Feb. 19 as nighttime temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing over the next week.

Anyone needing shelter can walk up to the Denver Coliseum at 4600 N Humboldt St. until 9 a.m. on Feb. 19, according to city officials. The shelter opened at 3 p.m. Friday.

Other Denver shelters are also expanding to accommodate more people during the cold weather, and families needing shelter can call the Connection Center at 303-295-3366.

Denver recreation centers will be open as daytime warming shelters during regular business hours on Saturday.

Denver is forecast to get up to 4 inches of snow through Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.
