“Someone did this to her,” Southern Colorado family pleads for answers after daughter’s death
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A Southern Colorado family says they want answers after a woman was found dead in the middle of the road on the Fourth of July. The Llanos family told 11News that the woman found was their 24-year-old daughter, Tatiana.
Jose Llanos, the father, explained that Tatiana was with him and the rest of their family for most of the evening celebrating the Fourth of July holiday. Jose recounts it was the last time he saw her.
Fountain Police knocked on his door late at night.
“I opened the door. The lieutenant introduced herself and the coroner introduced himself. They said, ‘Are you Tatiana’s father?’ And I said yes,” Jose said tearfully.
That was the moment when Jose said his life turned upside down.
“The way it was described to me, the way she was found, it looked like they left her like a bag of trash,” said Jose.
According to the Fountain Police Department, an El Paso County Deputy was patrolling Fountain Mesa Road on July 4 at 10:30 p.m. when he found the woman in the road.
Officers told 11News first responders tried to help her, but their attempts were unsuccessful. According to investigators, the woman was not shot or run over.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has not yet released how the woman died and if it was a homicide or accident to the public.
“There is just no way possible that she would’ve done something to herself. There’s a high possibility that someone did this to her. I don’t know if this was intentional. Maybe they got scared, maybe there’s an altercation, maybe something went too far,” Jose said.
Jose said that his daughter was going out with friends that night and that someone has to know what happened to her.
“If you were a part of this, just put yourselves in our perspective …If you found out at 3 o’clock in the morning, after enjoying a great day with your family, they told you that your daughter was found like a bag of trash in the middle of the road. Would you want that? And if it was an accident, then say something,” plead Jose.
The name of the woman found dead has not been officially released by the coroner or police. Fountain Police only tell us that they’re still investigating.
