“It’s just the right thing to do” Colorado Springs man had his wheels stolen, friend picks up the bill
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado Springs man says he woke up one morning to find no tires on his car. Richard McIntyre tells 11 News he was strapped for cash and says when he got his tires replaced the bill was in the thousands and opted for a weekly payment of $94.
Until his friend stepped in.
“After about two minutes I just dropped all my stuff in my heart sank and I called the cops. I was crying call my boss crying. This is what happened. I know I am supposed be at work,” McIntyre said.
After calling his boss, his friends, and his family McIntyre called a shop to get all four tires replaced. Something that was going to cost him nearly $5,000 in payments because he says he did not have the money to pay out of pocket.
But on Friday McIntyre received news he was not expecting. His friend chipped in and paid off the price of the new wheels.
“Since that debt has been released, it was definitely the greatest day ever,” McIntyre said.
Sam Huff, McIntyre’s close friend tells 11 News he did it because of the two’s close bond over the years.
“I’ve had some really bad times in my life, he’s always been right there willing to help anyway he can so it’s just the right thing to do. Me and him are that close, I have to return the favor,” Huff said.
