A recently discovered comet was visible to the naked eye in “northern locations” on the evening of October 14, NASA said, with this timelapse video captured in Colorado.

The footage, from Barry Stevenson, shows Comet Tsuchinshan–ATLAS above Roaring Fork Valley.

According to NASA, the ancient comet was discovered in 2023, and is estimated to have traveled from the outer reaches of Earth’s solar system.
