Colorado to visit Kansas State as regular season nears its end

The calendar has flipped to March, and although Colorado men’s basketball likely won’t be dancing into the NCAA Tournament, the Buffs still have plenty to play for as their season nears its end.

With each game representing a valuable opportunity for Colorado’s youngsters to grow, the Buffs (11-17, 2-15 Big 12) will face Kansas State (13-15, 7-10) on Sunday in their third-to-last regular season contest. Head coach Tad Boyle’s squad is playing arguably its best basketball of the season while the Wildcats have dropped their last four games.

Although Colorado hasn’t secured a true road win yet this season, Kansas State appears beatable after closing February with losses to Utah, Arizona State and UCF. Still, leading scorer David N’Guessan (12.7 points per game) and aggressive shooter Dug McDaniel won’t make things easy on the Buffs.

Julian Hammond III and Andrej Jakimovski are the only Buffs averaging over 10 points, but all eyes are on potential future stars Bangot Dak and Sebastian Rancik. Dak is coming off an impressive performance against Kansas while Rancik continues to turn heads as a true freshman.
