COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) –

Colorado Springs Native, and CSU guard Nique Clifford reflects after beating former team

For the First time in four ties, no. 20 Colorado State beat Colorado 88-83 on Wednesday night, and a Couple of Colorado Springs Natives in Joel Scott and Nique Clifford played a big part in the win.

Scott had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 Blocks for the Rams. Clifford had 15 and 6 boards as well. But this game meant more for Clifford who played for Colorado.

“I tried to get that in my head that it was just another game but in reality it’s not. I have ties with those guys. I was there for three years. It feels really good to come away with a win,” said Clifford.

“Nique’s a guy I’m really proud of too. I mean, that’s not easy, man. He’s a human being and you’re playing against your former teammates and coaches, guys who you live with. I thought the approach was tremendous. You know, he just came out there. He was locked into the game. He had just done what we needed to do and he just played the same way he’s played all year,” said CSU head coach Niko Medved.

CSU is now 7-0, and will face Washington on Saturday.
