Colorado man dies after setting himself on fire near Supreme Court

(NewsNation) ⁠– A Colorado man who lit himself on fireplace in entrance of the Supreme Courtroom constructing Friday night has died, in accordance with officers.

Police recognized the person as Wynn Bruce, 50, of Boulder.

Supreme Courtroom police, U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Division of D.C. responded to the incident at round 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Patricia McCabe, spokesperson for the Supreme Courtroom, had stated earlier.

“A medical helicopter landed on the plaza and the person was airlifted to a neighborhood hospital. Nobody else was injured,” McCabe stated in an earlier assertion.

On Friday night, U.S. Capitol Police indicated on its official Twitter account that roads had been briefly closed amid the incident. That they had reopened shortly after 9 p.m.

“This isn’t a public security concern,” they wrote on Twitter.
