COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Police say they have a man in custody after he barricaded himself inside a home Monday night.

Officers responded to the Old Colorado City area just after 9 o’clock, looking for a suspect who may have escaped a work-release program. A sergeant tells 11 News the Colorado Springs Police Department got information that he might be in a home off Glenn and 19th Street.

For nearly three hours, police and a SWAT team surrounded the house, ordering the suspect via megaphone to exit. At one point, our crew on scene says a drone was deployed.

The suspect finally surrendered just after midnight Tuesday. Police have not released his name, but do say he had active warrants for his arrest in addition to being wanted from the work-release program.
