Smoke and flames swirled in a tornado-like sample as sizzling winds met a wildfire in southern California.
The fireplace close to Quail Lake in Gorman closed parts of Route 138 northwest of Los Angeles.
The LA county hearth division tweeted that crews had been making good progress on the fireplace and that no buildings had been threatened
