California man charged after allegedly attempting to entice a child in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – A man from California was charged with attempting to entice a child on Tuesday in St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Cesar Sanchez, 36, from Perris, California, with enticement or attempted enticement of a child, age misrepresentation with intent to solicit a minor and sexual misconduct.

According to court documents, Sanchez was talking to a person he believed to be a child under the age of 15 in an online chat when he expressed a desire to have sexual contact with the victim. Sanchez attempted to meet up with the victim and went to a meeting place.

When Sanchez arrived at the meeting place, he was taken into custody.

Prosecutors said Sanchez was in St. Louis working as an in-home cable repairman.

While it is not known if there are other victims, investigators believe Sanchez may have attempted to contact other children online.

People with information on this case are asked to call the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.

Sanchez is being held on a $150,000 cash only, no 10% bond.
