Record high temperatures affecting Arizona and much of western US
PHOENIX (AZFamily)—The building heat wave this week is not just affecting Arizona.
Over 20 million people are under some type of heat watch or warning in the western United States. Affected states include California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Texas.
So, where are a few places where records could fall? Las Vegas has decent odds (pun intended) of breaking a record today. Here are the forecast high temperatures and record high temperatures for the next three days.
Locations like El Paso, Texas, could also challenge high-temperature records, especially on Thursday as shown below:
This large area of heat will spread east later this week, likely bringing above-normal temperatures to states like Kansas, Nebraska, and some of the Great Lakes region.
