PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -Our latest winter storm has arrived in Arizona. Today is a First Alert Weather Day, with rain, snow and thunderstorms possible across the state.

In the Valley, look for scattered showers throughout the day with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Most of the Valley had already picked up at least a quarter inch of rain as of this morning, with readings closer to a half to three-quarters of an inch in parts of the East Valley. While more rain is likely today, it’s possible that some areas see some downpours today and others get missed.

In the high country, snow levels rain pretty high for this time of year, between 6,500 and 7,000 feet. While we will see some widespread and heavy at times snow showers today, only a few inches of snow are likely in Northern Arizona. Higher snowfall totals are expected in the higher elevations of Southern and Eastern Arizona.

Rain and snow chances wind down across the state tonight into Wednesday morning. Another weaker storm will move quickly through the region Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing a few showers. Valley rain chances are near 10 to 20 percent during this timeframe.
