D-backs’ Rojas sidelined 2 days after HR burst
CHICAGO — Diamondbacks third baseman Josh Rojas is out of the beginning lineup for Sunday’s sequence finale in opposition to the Cubs due to a left hand contusion.
Rojas bought damage when he struck out within the first inning of Saturday’s 7-6 victory over the Cubs. He hit his first three residence runs of the season throughout Friday’s 10-6 win at Wrigley Subject.
Supervisor Torey Lovullo mentioned he does not assume Rojas will want a stint on the injured listing.
“There’s a number of swelling in there,” Lovullo mentioned. “He is simply going to work that out, so he is day-to-day.”
The Diamondbacks recalled infielder Drew Ellis from Triple-A Reno and despatched infielder Yonny Hernandez down earlier than Sunday’s sport. Ellis bought the beginning at third base for the finale of the four-game set and went 1 for 4 with a run scored within the Diamondbacks’ 5-4 loss.
